Help the Children is a nonprofit Christian humanitarian relief organization dedicated to help alleviate the suffering of children and their families throughout the United States and around the world. Help the Children’s mission is to increase self sufficiency by providing food, clothing, personal care items and medical supplies. Some urgent needs: plastic and/or paper grocery bags and empty egg cartons. These items can be dropped off at our church along with any non-perishable food or personal care items.  Please visit their website for more information on volunteer opportunities in Santa Clarita.

With public funds scarce for social programs, the Santa Clarita Community Development Corporation (SCCDC) has taken a primary role in meeting the needs of the hungry and homeless in this community. The EWS (Emergency Winter Shelter) assists people with the help they need to improve their individual or family circumstances. Open from approximately Dec.1 through March 15 each year, the EWS provides shelter, food, clothing, medical and mental services as well as other assistance and referrals to its clients. Please visit their website for more information and a list of items urgently needed to help support this important community service.

Global Community

Across the USA, churches, radio stations, TV stations, and people like you are standing strong with our military, showing support and spreading God’s Word to those in harm’s way.  Through Faith Comes By Hearing’s Military BibleStick project, our nation’s troops are hearing the Word of God while on (or preparing for) deployment.  The Military BibleStick is a digital audio player that is pre-loaded with a dramatized recording of the entire New Testament.  Each BibleStick includes a response card offering FREE Audio Drama Bibles to loved ones at home.  Chaplains from every branch of the military are flooding Faith Comes By Hearing with requests.  More than 340,000 of these Audio Bibles are now in the field.  Over 1,325 chaplains use Military BibleSticks in pre-deployment briefings, counseling sessions, Bible studies, weekly chapels and other spiritual services.  A donation of $25 sponsors one soldier and his or her family.

ZOE Children’s Homes is committed to caring for orphans or victims of other heinous crimes and abuse and rescuing children who are at-risk of being sold into slavery or have already been sold.  Each year, 800,000 souls are trafficked across the international borders.  This is a growing global problem of epidemic proportions.  Not one inhabited continent is untouched by it including the United States.  Statistics show that 80% of those who are trafficked are females and more devastatingly enough, 50% are children!  ZOE Children’s Homes exist to combat the trafficking of children globally, especially in the sex trade, and provide shelters as well as a loving home to these orphans and children who have been abused or are at-risk of any crime against them so that they can have life again.  ZOE is the Greek word for “LIFE”
