Pastor Joe Beran

Spiritual care is vital, especially in an epidemic, when people are afraid and confused.  However, it is our moral duty to protect our community by taking reasonable precautions so our church does not spread disease.  Moreover, this is part of our Christian witness.  Do not abandon your post, but don’t be foolish.

It is also important to follow the counsel of federal, state and local government.  If for the welfare and safety of residents, the decision is made to close programs that bring together groups of people, then that must be respected.

As followers of Jesus, we choose love over fear – perfect love drives out fear.  We pray for those who have already been affected – their families, caregivers, and the medical professionals working tirelessly to respond.  We exercise caution so we can continue to represent Jesus and share the gospel with compassion and care.
